Let’s face it: Surprises are good. And they can come in numerous shapes, sizes and types. And they are not all boxed, as you can see in this picture….

Each surprise gift can be fun, a unique expression of one person’s love and appreciation for another. And the overload of ensuing emotions, and how to cope with them, IS THE BEST PART!!!!! Just watch the other person’s reaction each and every time….sometimes, you may not even expect the look you see on their face! Or on YOURS when you get a surprise! It can feel really, really good….and that’s an understatement.

Not only that, but some surprise gifts can be more fun to give than others….such as a movie night, a ticket to that favorite band’s concert, or even a fake “million dollar bill”. Play around with it. Have fun!

IT’S HEALTHY!

The extra ‘happiness’ stimulation alone is worth the trouble. Not only that, but it’s healthy to break with tradition every now and then...and getting or giving something you hadn’t EXPECTED can be just what you ---- not to mention the other person ---- needs. It can provide your brain with that extra boost of unexpected joy when it requires it most….

In addition, happiness is perhaps the most underrated gift we can give to others as we’ve discussed in other recent blogs here. It truly doesn’t get enough credit. But here on this blog, it will. In life, happiness is a must!

Get it. Keep it. Share it!

IT’S SPONTANEOUS, UNEXPECTED, AND COMPLETELY SPORADIC ---- BUT THAT’S A GOOD THING!

That’s the whole idea behind the surprise, is it not? To “wow the senses”, that’s the key here….and to get a great gift, no less. You can do both. Plan it all out well ahead of time.

And remember this when you’re planning it: There’s no such thing as a “perfect surprise” though some may be more ideal than most --- for you or for the receiver(s). Either way, don’t be too hard on yourself trying to figure out what or when it’ll be, or those other crucial details. Simply start planning something, and move forward with it. After all, no one’s expecting it to be a “certain something” since it’ll be a surprise.

Moreover, just remember one simple rule. You reap what you sow. Never forget it.

So my concluding advice on that point is this: Sow sparingly; reap sparingly; then, simply repeat.

OTHER THOUGHTS ON ALL THIS “MUMBO JUMBO”: DON’T STRESS ABOUT IT. PRAY INSTEAD. GIVE FROM THE HEART. BE SO MUCH MORE IN THIS LIFE….

So consider this the next time you find yourself in a “present pickle”. And remember to look up: The Good Lord has an answer for everything. So worry about nothing, and pray about everything; you will find that perfect gift. Believe it, and you’ll receive it (actually, the other party will actually do the receiving, but you get the idea). All good things do come in time, and from the Father above, the true Giver of all gifts everywhere, the source from which every great present first originates.
